What is Community Voice Mail?

Community Voice Mail (CVM) provides stable communication for individuals who otherwise would not have access to phone service. Through this program, users receive their own 10-digit phone number, connected to a personal voicemail box, accessible from any location, 24-hours a day.

Samaritan House of Atlanta has recently expanded to have 3000 active extension to be used by both guests of Samaritan House of Atlanta and local agencies in Atlanta.  To learn more about CVM and its impact on homeless men and women, Click on the following link: Community Voice Mail Video

For more information email Nickell Durham at ndurham@samhouse.org or call 404.572.9000.

How It Works?

    • It’s Private: Each guest receives a personal 10-digit local phone number. The number looks like any home number and does not signal to the caller that the client does not have a phone or is homeless.
    • It’s Personalized: Client sets access code and records personal greeting.
    • It’s Accessible: Client can check his or her message 24-hours a day/7 days a week from any touch-tone phone!
